There is more than ChatGPT
I can’t stress this enough but if you only rely on ChatGPT for your work then you are missing out.
Chances are that you get frustrated with the output because your use case doesn’t match the right type of Chatbot you are using. For example data analysis is a great use case for ChatGPT-4 but creative writing is terrible.
On the LLM leaderboard (where Chatbots get ranked) you can get a good understanding of what’s out there and how well they are ranked in terms of performance.

The most popular chatbots at this moment are ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini (by Google), and LLama-3 (open source by Meta).
If you want to compare the models and their outputs without creating multiple accounts you can create an account at poe.com or at Vercel.

Comparing outputs of different models at Vercel
Here’s a short guide on what Chatbot to pick:
You are on the free plan of ChatGPT
In this scenario you want to immediately close your ChatGPT window and create a free account at Claude.
Regardless of your role / use case, you will benefit from using Claude a lot more. It’s free, more intelligent than the free version of ChatGPT, and it’s also a much better writer.
The free version of Claude is called Claude Sonnet and is ranked #7 at the leaderboard while ChatGPT 3.5 is all the way down at #27.
It’s a big, big, difference that you will notice immediately.
You do a lot of creative work
Claude is the ultimate winner when it comes to creative writing.
With ChatGPT you will have to iterate into infinity to get the cringe levels from 100% to 95%.
Claude is a better writer that also adopts better to your requests and own writing style. It makes your whole creative process much more enjoyable and easier to do.
You are a professional and do non-creative work
Then you are best of with the paid plan of ChatGPT.
It’s ranked #1 at the leaderboard and it offers tons of ways to make your work easier. Uploading images and files, custom GPTs, custom instructions, memory, and more.
However, it doesn’t hurt to always compare outputs from different models and see which one can solve your problem the best way.

Talk to experts for $0
Recently I’ve been talking to a lot of different experts that helped me solve issues such as task management, branding, marketing, etc.
These experts have rates that can reach thousands of dollars per hour, but I’m speaking to them for free.
Here’s how that works:
With Google’s Gemini you can enter 1M of tokens which translates into roughly 1500 pages.
This means you can upload a whole book worth of context and answer questions based on the book.
For example, I had to come up with a new name for a project I’m working on.
Instead of trying to come up with a name from scratch or read a book on how to come up with a great name for my business, I decided to speak to the expert of this area.
I used the book ‘Hello, my name is Awesome’ by Alexandra Watkins, that I converted into a text file and then pasted it into Gemini.
I used the following prompt to achieve this:
<instructions> Act like you are Alexandra Watkins, author of 'Hello, my name is Awesome'. You answer my questions based on the book below. </instructions>
<task> Alexandra, what makes a good name and how do I start brainstorming for a new name?<task>
<book> [contents of the book] </book>Then I was able to talk to Alexandra and get answers based on the contents of the book.
She gave me her framework and then she came up with multiple different ideas for a name, based on her own frameworks and expertise.
The suggestions are so much better than if I didn’t prompt Gemini with the contents of this book.
So, try it out for whatever problem you are facing. Let an expert help you and take a look at your problem. The effort is small and the outcome can be a game-changer.
Disclaimer: of course this does not compare to speaking to Alexandra in real life, but it’s a great little hack to work more efficiently and get to your ideal outcome much faster.
